Iowa City Area Development Group

The Iowa City Area Development Group, Inc. (ICAD Group) announced 167 Corridor businesses invested in the Creating Advantage Investing for Results campaign, pledging $3.885 million to develop a major, new economic development program. STELLAR Fundraising Executives assisted with the campaign.

The new plan incorporates the views and specific and collective needs of Iowa City area business and community leaders. The campaign provides a proactive business plan and an aggressive basic sector business retention, expansion and recruitment program; and workforce business services to improve the economic performance and vitality of the Iowa City metropolitan area.

Creating Advantage Investing for Results will:

Facilitate the retention and growth of existing businesses

Recruit targeted businesses to diversify and strengthen the local economy

Simulate and support small businesses and entrepreneurial development activity

Encourage the development and expansion of a quality workforce

Promote regional economic growth nationally and globally

Present a consistent, progressive image that reflects Iowa City's desirable attributes to investors, corporate decision-makers and the public

Capitalize on the unique resources and strengths of the University of Iowa, Kirkwood Community College and other service-related organizations in the area
