Quality of Life

Without question, the University of Iowa is the foundation and the thread connecting the community’s cultural life. The nationally recognized academic and performing arts and world-famous Writers’ Workshop, Iowa City and the University of Iowa form a distinct community of creativity and innovation.

The area is a Mecca of arts, culture and humanities. Our communities’ libraries are some of the most used and highly-praised facilities. Iowa City Public Library, Coralville Public Library, North Liberty Community Library and the Solon Community Library are all beautiful new facilities. And many have been among the best for their size and populations.

Free wireless is a welcome change for Internet users and the Corridor’s technology service outperforms many major metro areas. A growing number of Corridor communities use public hotspots to their advantage. The Corridor Free Wireless Network (CFree Wireless) provides a signal that covers many public spaces, parks and places in Iowa City; Coralville, including the new Iowa River Landing District.
