Transportation

The Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Technology Corridor™ region’s central Midwest location is well served by the region’s prime transportation modalities – interstate highway system, rail and air.

America’s transcontinental highway system, Interstate 80, passes through areas served by the Iowa City Area Development Group. The Avenue of the Saints, I-380 and Highway 218, also bisects the region. The Corridor is served by two commercial airports – Eastern Iowa Regional Airport (CID) and the 50-60 minutes of the Quad Cities International Airport, both provide excellent service throughout the country and the world.

And, the region’s two rail providers, Iowa Interstate Railroad and CRANDIC, connect with major rail service throughout the United States.
