The 1903 Carnegie Library in Tipton is an interesting historical attraction itself, but it houses a wonderful collection of 21 original Grant Wood charcoal and oil works

Tipton

 Customized Community Profile on LOIS

Tipton, the county seat of Cedar County, is ideally located in the heart of eastern Iowa.  Only 8 miles north of Interstate 80 and 7 miles south of US Highway 30, Tipton also features two state highways that intersect in downtown.  With close proximity to larger metro areas such as Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and the Quad Cities, Tipton is ideally located for business transportation needs.

Bucking the "shrinking small town" trend, Tipton is steadily growing commercially, industrially, and residentially. It is an extremely pro-business community with a strong and loyal economic base with a thriving downtown business district. The Tipton Business Park on the south side of town provides opportunity for larger manufacturing and other industrial uses.
