2009 ICAD Manufacturing/Primary Sector Impact Study
The Iowa City Area Development (ICAD) Group and the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce are actively working together to maintain and improve our local economy. In this spirit of partnership and future development, we are asking you to complete a brief survey about how your company contributes to the local economy.
Primary sector companies like yours bring new revenue to the region, provide quality jobs and contribute to the advancement of our communities. As is the case in many university communities, it is important to remind local leaders and the public of the importance of your sector to the economy. As we continue to aggressively advocate on behalf of our business community it is important that we accurately quantify how vital our manufacturing base and interstate commerce companies are to the area.
Once we have compiled the data, we will prepare an area wide report, complete with city-by-city analysis of the impact our interstate commerce companies have on the local economy. Data will remain confidential and information will be presented in aggregate.
With your help, our organizations will have a unique and comprehensive assessment documenting what our primary sector companies and manufacturing base contribute to the local economy. We believe these numbers will help strengthen our case to elected officials as to why your concerns, needs and ideas should be heard.
Thank you in advance for participating in this important study. If you have any questions or thoughts we hope you will share them with us.
Sincerely,
Derek Easton, Area Manufacturing Roundtable Chair
Nancy Quellhorst,Iowa City Chamber of Commerce
Joe Raso, ICAD Group
