MidAmerican Energy
MidAmerican Energy Company, Iowa's largest energy company, is strategically located in the middle of several major markets in the Midwest. Headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, it provides service to customers in a 10,600-square-mile area in Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska and South Dakota. MidAmerican Energy Company is a subsidiary of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company.
Businesses in the MidAmerican Energy Company service territory benefit from stable and competitive electric rates and natural gas transportation charges. For MidAmerican Customers in Iowa, the cost of electricity per kilowatt-hour actually is lower today than it was in 1995, and MidAmerican has committed to keeping electric rates – the cost per kilowatt-hour of electricity – stable. While the price of the natural gas MidAmerican supplies has risen in recent years, the rate MidAmerican charges to transport natural gas has not changed since 2001.

Linn County Rural Electric Cooperative (REC) is a not-for-profit, member-owned electric distribution cooperative serving more than 22,000 members in six counties in eastern Iowa. Membership includes residential and commercial customers in Linn and Johnson counties and line extensions into Jones, Cedar, Iowa and Benton counties. The company, headquartered in Marion, Iowa, is committed to provide a wide variety of member products and services.
The company provides service to many areas suitable for commercial development, and is eager to attract new businesses and assist existing businesses with efficient use of energy. Select equipment and rate incentives are available for economic development on new commercial loads or significant expansion of existing commercial loads.
