Visiting Makers

New products and solutions to problems are being generated by curious minds willing to think differently, experiment, collaborate, and test their ideas.

Finding people who can turn ideas into creations is the main goal of every company in today’s global economy. Colleges and Universities are increasingly eager to find students who have created something and made an impact.

Concepted and created in the Iowa City Community School District, 'Makers Spaces' foster world changing ideas. The Iowa City Area Development Group (ICAD) is eager to help provide energy to these spaces by partnering and bringing Visiting Makers into your school to share their stories, tips, and ideas. Our pledge to you is to find you content experts willing to speak to your group about the tools, trends, and creative process they use to make great things happen.

Give us the details for the visit experience you are looking for; include best date(s), time(s), and location. The ICAD group will work to find a local rock star who will inspire and inform your group. Examples include app developers, seasoned entrepreneurs, musicians, cybersecurity experts, artists, angel investors, medical device inventors, and personal branding experts, however, it can be on any topic you are interested in bringing to your students.
