The Iowa City Area Development (ICAD) Group will host its annual luncheon and meeting on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Iowa City Hotel.
Richard Longworth, a senior fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and author of the book Caught in the Middle: America's Heartland in the Age of Globalism, will be the featured speaker.
“Mr. Longworth’s perspective on regional economies and global competition is a timely topic for our region," said ICAD Group President Joe Raso. “His book illustrates the need for a fresh approach to economic development.”
In addition to Richard Longworth’s keynote, the meeting will feature a recap of the past fiscal year and detail ICAD Group’s new twenty year vision for the region.
“We developed a strategic plan this past year which provides an aggressive and pioneering course of action guiding ICAD Group into its third decade,” explained Raso. “Our leadership has adopted an exciting and innovative model of regional development, and we’re excited to present that to our investors next month.”
Tickets are available now for $30 through the ICAD Group office at (319) 354-3939 or by registering online at www.icadgroup.com/longworth. The luncheon is open to the public. Deadline to register is Friday, September 10, 2010. Accommodations are available for any size group.
