Author and founder of Next Generation Consulting Rebecca Ryan will keynote the Iowa City Area Development (ICAD) Group Annual Meeting and Breakfast on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the Celebration Farm in northeast Iowa City. The meeting is sponsored by the Eastern Iowa Airport.
Registration will begin at noon, Friday, August 10, 2012, at www.icadgroup.com/rebecca or by phone at (319) 354-3939. Cost to attend is $25 for ICAD Group 2030 Visionaries and investors and $35 for the public. Tables of eight will be available.
Ms. Ryan has presented around the world on topics such as workplace culture, innovation, creativity, community development and talent attraction. Currently, she’s finishing her new book ReGENERATION: A Manifesto for America's Next Leaders.
“After seeing Rebecca speak at an economic development conference this spring, we knew she’d be perfect for our annual meeting,” said Mark Nolte, ICAD Group’s interim president. “Rebecca’s message will help illustrate many of the key points outlined in our Vision 2030, including creating a culture of innovation and connections.”
ICAD Group concluded its Vision 2030 campaign last month, with more than one hundred investors pledging over four million dollars to support the organization and its programming. This year’s annual meeting will include more information about the Vision 2030 plan, its goals and benchmarks, and ICAD Group’s activity during the last fiscal year. Additionally, Tim Bradshaw, Director for the Eastern Iowa Airport, will make a few comments about air service in the region and its impact on economic development.
Ms. Ryan’s presentation will come after a half day conference for young professionals in Cedar Rapids on Monday, October 15. “Working with the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance and the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce, we are able to provide multiple opportunities for the community to hear Rebecca throughout Iowa’s Creative Corridor,” said Chuck Peters, chair of ICAD Group’s board of directors. “Rebecca is familiar with this region and its potential, and she’ll leave our investors, clients and guests excited about what we can achieve.”
Deadline to register is Monday, October 8, 2012.
