BioMixer to Showcase Area BioTech Companies

North Liberty Development, in partnership with the Iowa City Area Development Group, the City of North Liberty, and South Slope Communications Company is sponsoring a “BioMixer” on Thursday, April 15, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the South Slope Community Center in North Liberty.
The biotechnology cluster of the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Technology Corridor, and companies from around the state, will showcase innovation and also share best practices with one another. More than 30 companies representing the area have been invited to attend the event.
“The North Liberty Development Group is pleased to host this event for area Biotech companies,” said Dennis Tallman, North Liberty Development President. “The entire Corridor area is a hub for Biotech activity, with several Biotech companies in North Liberty. We are pleased to showcase them and allow a positive networking environment for all area Biotechs to get to know one another.”
Among the event highlights will be company updates. Principals from biotechnology and science companies will each have three slides and thirty seconds to update attendees and other companies on their current work in pharmaceuticals, simulation and imaging, medical devices, microscopic products, nutrition, software and other fields.
Area business leaders, educators, and local government officials are encouraged to attend. Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided. The South Slope Community Center is located at 980 North Front Street in North Liberty.
