CIVCO Medical Solutions, a medical technology and solutions company headquartered in Kalona, Iowa, recently announced plans to partner with a local development firm to build a new $1.1 million, 11,400 square foot office in Coralville and is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at 10:00 a.m.
Company representatives, along with community and regional leaders, will be present at the groundbreaking ceremony to comment about the project and its significance to the region.
“We’re excited on several levels regarding this critical move,” said Charles Klasson, CIVCO’s President and CEO. “We are building on our investment in the Corridor and southeast Iowa, creating a broader presence, and enabling future growth.”
CIVCO plans to employ more than 50 associates at this new location in positions such as product sales, marketing, engineering and corporate leadership. CIVCO has already established temporary operations in Coralville and is actively hiring for the new location.
Joe Raso, President of the Iowa City Area Development Group said this expansion will add to the region’s excellent base of advanced manufacturing and bio-technology companies. “This is fantastic news for Coralville and the entire region,” Raso said. “CIVCO is well known for its innovation and forward thinking and we are excited for the employment opportunities CIVCO is creating.”
Their new Coralville office is expected to open this summer in August. The new office will allow for CIVCO to renovate its existing manufacturing and distribution facility in Kalona.
