Apple Computer Accepts Iowa City Company’s iPhone App
4/3/2009Componica Releases “Memorize Words!” for Spanish
Iowa City based Componica, a computer consulting and software development company, has received approval from Apple Computer to distribute a new iPhone application called “Memorize Words!” The application is now available for download.
“Memorize Words!” for Spanish is a flashcard vocabulary building program designed to help the user memorize 6,300 Spanish words as quickly as possible while maintaining a 90% retention rate. Utilizing a spaced repetition algorithm, “Memorize Words” tracks the recall rate of individual words and reminds the user of words that need review. This unique approach allows the user to memorize thousands of words, yet only review a few difficult words daily. Additionally, every word has a pronunciation recorded from a native Spanish speaker.
Several games and review lessons are provided to add fun to the process, and will change with each use, depending on which words need review. The program does not require an online connection.
“Memorize Words!” is compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch and costs $7.99. More information can be found online at www.memorizewords.com or www.componica.com.
