Luncheon Scheduled for September 28 at Iowa City Sheraton

Iowa Economic Development Director Debi Durham will keynote the Iowa City Area Development (ICAD) Group Annual Meeting and Luncheon on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Iowa City Hotel.

Director Durham was named Director of the Iowa Department of Economic Development by Governor Terry Branstad in January 2011.  Prior to this appointment, Director Durham served as President of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce and President of the Siouxland Initiative (TSI), the economic development corporation.

“We are excited to welcome Director Durham to Iowa City and are looking forward to her remarks,” said Joe Raso, ICAD Group President.  “She will outline the new Iowa Partnership for Economic Progress and discuss innovation in the state; both very important topics for our region.”

In addition to Director Durham’s keynote, the meeting will feature a recap of the past fiscal year and detail ICAD Group’s new five year economic development strategy.

“Our region has experienced great success over the past several years and we must continue to create an atmosphere for quality business growth,” said Scott Fisher, ICAD Group Board Chair.  “We’ll outline our approach to a new five year plan that moves our region from good to great and embraces the changing global economy.”

Tickets are available now for $30 through the ICAD Group office at (319) 354-3939 or by registering online at www.icadgroup.com/durham.

Accommodations are available for any size group.  The luncheon is open to the public.  Deadline to register is Friday, September 23, 2011.
