IC Aiport Receives $1.7M for Upgrades

Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) announced Thursday that the Iowa City Municipal Airport has received a total of $1.698 in grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Mr. Harkin is a senior member of the Senate panel that funds transportation initiatives.

“I am pleased Iowa City will receive these funds to improve its airport,” Mr. Harkin said. “Maintaining a quality airport is important to the economic health and safety of Iowa communities.”

This funding will be used to rehabilitate the runway and extend its useful life.
