Local Bio-Tech Firm Buys Division of UK Company

IDT Buys VH Bio’s Oligo Business

Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT), the world leader in oligonucleotide synthesis, has purchased the oligo business of VH Bio Ltd (Gateshead, UK).  IDT will supply VH Bio’s customers from IDT’s state-of-the-art facility in Leuven, Belgium, while building on the excellent local customer service for which VH Bio has been renowned in the UK.  As a result, current VH Bio oligo customers will have access to a much broader range of products, with 100% QC-checked sequences and next-day delivery.  VH Bio will continue to distribute its full range of other products for immunologists and molecular biologists.

IDT and VH Bio have also announced an agreement to work together to grow IDT’s oligonucleotide business in the UK.  The two companies will combine efforts to introduce IDT’s market-leading products to scientists throughout the country.

IDT officially opened its European synthesis facility in Leuven in September 2008, and now has branches in both the UK and Germany.
