$2.4 Million Expansion Also Underway

Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) will custom manufacture assays for quantifying miRNAs developed by Quanta Biosciences under a partnership announced by the companies. IDT, which supplies custom nucleic acids, will produce the assays and supply them directly to Quanta customers through an online catalog.

Quanta's miRNA products are designed to allow scientists to accurately detect and profile mature miRNA sequences. Early access customers have deployed Quanta's miR assays for toxicology screening during drug development as well as quality control of stem cell pluripotency and differentiation. Since 2001, Quanta has been developing and manufacturing life science reagents used for gene-expression profiling, knock-down confirmation, SNP genotyping, biomarker discovery and validation, and array validation. The reagents are used in a variety of industries including pharmaceutical R&D, diagnostics, agriculture, and biodefense.

IDT is located in Coralville and has recently announced a $2.4 million expansion of its headquarters.  According to reports, the new space will accommodate a larger shipping and distribution center and additional office space.
