Christal Mickle of KemPharm nominated for Entrepreneurial Innovation and Leadership

Several Corridor women are among finalists for the Technology Association of Iowa’s second annual Iowa Women of Innovation Awards.

Nine awards will be given to recognize women in Iowa’s workforce who are trailblazers and role models in their fields. Students at both the high school and college levels will also be recognized for their studies and accomplishments.

The winner in each of the nine award categories will be announced during the 2009 Women of Innovation Awards Dinner held at the Meadows Events & Conference Center on Tuesday, November 10.

Nearly 70 nominations were submitted for women from communities across the state.   Corridor finalists are:

--Research Innovation and Leadership: Keri Hornbuckle, University of Iowa College of Engineering

--Academic Innovation and Leadership (Post-Secondary): Gail Bishop, UI College of Medicine; Jennifer Fiegel, UI; Tonya Peeples, UI College of Engineering

--Entrepreneurial Innovation and Leadership: Christal Mickle, KemPharm Inc., North Liberty

--Large Company – Innovation: Katie Coates, Rockwell Collins; Sarah Barber, Rockwell Collins

--Large Company – Leadership: Nan Mattai, Rockwell Collins

--Collegian Innovation and Leadership: Alexandra Keenan, Erin Allen, Laurie Eckert and Nidhi Sahni, all from the UI.
