CorridorWORKS Career Fair this Thursday

More than 30 Companies with Full and Part Time Openings

More than 30 local employers will participate in the CorridorWORKS Career Fair, Thursday, September 12, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the Iowa City National Guard Armory in Iowa City.

Employers have a wide range of opportunities available for all skill levels and experience.  Companies are currently hiring for full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees.

ICAD Group Workforce Business Services Director DaLayne Williamson notes that the Iowa City area hasn’t had a fair of this size for a few years.  “Working with a host of partners, including IowaWORKS and Kirkwood, we were able to attract a strong list of employers hiring positions right now,” said Williamson.  “Employers have been challenged filling some positions, so this is the perfect opportunity for workers to meet with companies and talk about future careers.”

Career fair participants will have the opportunity to attend a job seeking skills workshop at 3:00 p.m. prior to the event starting at 3:30 p.m.  The pre-fair function and the career fair are free to attend.

The event is veteran friendly, and a variety of support services and educational partners serving both veterans and civilians will also take part.

The event is a partnership of ICAD Group, IowaWORKS, Skilled Iowa, the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), and Kirkwood Community College.

Promotional support is provided by MidAmerican Energy, Alliant Energy, Press Citizen Media and Clear Channel Radio.
