Mercy Hospital in Iowa City has purchased a lot in The Crossing development off of Camp Cardinal Boulevard to serve as home to a new primary care clinic, a hospital spokesman said.
Mercy spokesman Tim Ahlers said the new clinic will probably be built in the next two to four years.
“As we plan ahead into the future, we’ve identified that location — that part of the Iowa City-Coralville area — as an area that, as it develops, will need primary care services,” Ahlers said.
Mercy has 11 primary care clinics in Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty, Solon, West Branch, West Liberty, Williamsburg, Columbus Junction, Kalona, North English and Tipton.
