ICAD Client Picks IC Area to Supply ITC Midwest

Metro Wire & Cable Corp. of Detroit opened an office and distribution center in Iowa City. The 15,000-square-foot facility in the Scott Six Industrial Park is the company's third, and will serve customers in the Midwest and western areas of the country.

"We've been amazed at the warm reception we've received from everyone in the Iowa City area," said Donald Ezop, president of Metro Wire & Cable, in a press release.

Metro Wire selected Iowa City primarily because of its alliance with ITC Midwest, which manages electrical transmission lines in Iowa and the surrounding states.

Metro Wire supplied the area with nine semi-trailer loads of cable earlier this year for substation and transmission line repair after the spring flooding that devastated the region.

Metro Wire & Cable provides warehousing, supply chain and delivery services of wire and cable products for a broad spectrum of markets. Headquartered in Sterling Heights, Mich., it employs more than 40 and maintains more than 65,000 square feet of warehouse space.
