NIS, Inc. Expanding Operations in North Liberty

Leasing River Bend Industries Building; Hiring 40

NIS, Inc., a value-added third party logistics (3PL) provider of contract assembly, inventory management, warehousing and distribution, announced that it is expanding its operations and leasing the former River Bend Industries building in North Liberty, Iowa.  The North Liberty operation expands NIS’ ability to provide 3PL management and manufacturing support to its fast growing base of customers and prospects in the Midwest.

"We have seen significant growth in our contract assembly work in the last two years," said Randy McDonald, Executive Officer.  "Relocating to the former River Bend building will provide us with the space necessary to support current and future growth.”

NIS, Inc. currently employs 95 people operating in 55,000 leased square feet in its current facility in North Liberty and anticipates hiring an additional 40 people as it expands into the new location.

With River Bend Industries announcing their plans to relocate to Victor, ICAD Group President Joe Raso says it is encouraging to see a local employer lease this space and expand their operations.  “NIS has a strong reputation of providing valuable services to customers in the Corridor and throughout the Midwest,” said Raso.  “This expansion enhances our area’s reputation as a leader in logistical support services for advanced manufacturing.”

Dennis Jordan, Vice President of Economic Development with Priority One in Cedar Rapids, anticipates NIS filling these 40 positions quickly.  “The skill sets and work ethic of our labor market will make for a smooth transition,” said Jordan.  “NIS is an innovative leader in their field and regarded as a quality employer.”

NIS also employs 40 people in its 54,000 square foot Davenport facility.
