Resume and Cover Letter Workshop Planned for October 20

Tips Provided for Today’s Specialized Job Market

The Iowa City Area Development (ICAD) Group, Iowa Workforce Development and Search Forward are hosting a workshop for all area job seekers on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Coralville Public Library Meeting Room A, 1401 5th Street, Coralville.   

The event is free and does not require pre-registration.

This 90 minute workshop and presentation, titled “The New Resume and Cover Letter: adapting your background for today’s specialized job market,” will be hosted by Margie Peskin, owner of Search Forward.  Peskin will discuss the newest formatting for resumes and provide dos and don’ts for cover letters.

“Many of today’s job seekers are seeking new opportunities for employment and many haven’t updated a resume in a long time,” said Peskin.  “This workshop will help them polish their resumes, showcase their talents, and write cover letters that get noticed.”
