Working Women Honors Procter & Gamble for Diversity

5/26/2010

Procter & Gamble Co. was among 23 companies nationwide named to Working Women magazine’s “Best Companies for Multicultural Women 2010” list.

P&G made the list because, over the past four years, the consumer goods company has increased the number of multicultural women at its vice president and general manager level by 50 percent, Working Women said.

Nine percent of P&G’s work force is multicultural and female, the magazine said. Three percent of corporate executives are multicultural women, as well as 7 percent of senior managers and 8 percent of top earners.

The company’s commitment to a diverse work force includes a mentoring program for junior executives and diversity training for employees at all levels, Working Women said.

Procter & Gamble, headquartered in Cincinnati, develops, manufactures and markets consumer products and pharmaceuticals.  It has a location in Iowa City which manufactures Scope mouthwash and Panteen shampoo at the P&G facility and toothbrushes at the Oral-B plant.
