City of Iowa City Awarded $1M+ To Improve Access to Wind Park

City of Iowa City Awarded RISE Grant

The City of Iowa City has been awarded $1,243,000 from the Iowa Department of Transportation to reconstruct 420th Street in southeast Iowa City's new Wind Energy Supply Campus. This fund is part of Iowa DOT's "Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy" program, and is intended to help fund infrastructure improvements to support economic development.

The funds were requested through Iowa City's 420th Street RISE grant application, and will include improvements to 420th Street east of Hwy. 6. The reconstruction of 420th Street will include reconstruction, widening and public utilities. This project is scheduled to be completed in 2010.
