ACT to Apply Workforce Readiness Solutions to Construction Industry

Iowa City Companies Faired Better than National Companies During 09 Economic Downturn

The Iowa City Area Development Group (ICAD Group) has updated its most recent existing industry report, “Minding Our Own Businesses Volume 5,” with new data recently released by Blane Canada, Ltd. Comparing local data with the Blane Canada, Ltd., “2008/2009 National Data Study,” Iowa City area companies are faring significantly better across the board on their potential to remain competitive and sustain growth. Specifically, local companies are innovating with products in the emerging and growing phases of the product life cycle. Area industry is showing higher levels of sales, increase in market share, and more plans to expand as compared with national companies. Iowa Receives Grant to Promote Future Workforce Skills

Jobs and New Product Line Coming to Whirlpool Amana Plant

Quality Associates to Open Facility in Iowa City

Quality Associates, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, will open a 245,000 square foot packaging facility in Iowa City in late March 2010. The facility is located at 2630 Independence Avenue in the Scott Six Industrial Park located just off Scott Boulevard. The focus of the new facility will be to provide functional, cost-competitive packing for retail consumer packaged goods. Quality Associates’ new location will bring 75 new jobs to the area with 100% of the hiring being local.
