UI Grad Programs Make U.S. News & World Report Top Rankings
4/16/2010U.S. News & World Report ranks 22 University of Iowa graduate programs and colleges among the 10 best in the country when compared to other public universities, with five UI programs continuing to rank in first place.
"America's Best Graduate Schools 2011" ranks as No. 1 as compared to public universities the speech-language pathology and audiology graduate programs, the physician assistant program and the nursing specialties of Nursing Service Administration and Gerontological/Geriatric. All five rankings are carried over from previous years.
Other UI graduate programs ranked highly when compared to other public universities -- a mix of new and carry-over rankings that won't all appear in the print guidebook, include:
Medicine Specialties-Internal Medicine and Women's Health, both in the Carver College of Medicine, 8 (new rankings); Nursing Specialty-Nurse Practitioner: Pediatric (College of Nursing), 6 (carry-over ranking); Master of Fine Arts program in art and design, 7 (carry-over ranking); Fine Arts Specialty-Painting/Drawing, 7 (carry-over ranking); College of Law, 8 (new ranking); Clinical Psychology, doctorate (CLAS), 8 (carry-over ranking); Education Specialty-Higher Education Administration (College of Education), 8 (new ranking); Nursing, master's (College of Nursing), 9 (carry-over ranking); College of Medicine-Primary Care (Carver College of Medicine), 9 (new ranking); Education Specialty-Student Counseling and Personnel Services (College of Education), 10 (new ranking); and Engineering Specialty-Environmental/Environmental Health (College of Engineering), 10 (new ranking).
