CBJ: Vermeer Manufacturing Coming to Tipton

New Facility to be Completed May 1

Construction will soon begin on a 12,000- to 14,000-square-foot facility for Vermeer of Iowa in Tipton. The Pella-based agricultural, construction, environmental and industrial equipment manufacturing company is leasing an existing commercial building in Tipton that will open by the end of the year.

Construction on the new facility will begin soon, with anticipated completion by May 1. The facility will be built on five acres of frontage on Highway 38 in the Tipton Business Park.

The company is already hiring for certain positions, and plans to hire a dozen workers within the next year or two. These include service personnel, sales staff and administrative positions.

Vermeer of Iowa has Pella and Marcus, and plans to service and distribute Vermeer environmental, industrial, and construction machines out of the facility. Products will include stump cutters, brush chippers, horizontal directional drills, rubber tired trenchers and track trenchers.
